The client is a global leader in aluminum and copper manufacturing, with operations spanning 52 units across 10 countries. Recognized as the world’s most sustainable aluminum company for five consecutive years, the organization plays a pivotal role across the entire metals value chain—from mining and refining to rolling, extrusion, and foil production.

Market trends in the manufacturing industry

Manufacturing companies are modernizing to address inefficiencies in supply chains and manufacturing processes. They are moving away from outdated systems to improve real-time visibility and reduce disruptions. Advanced data management solutions are adopted to minimize delays and ensure timely deliveries. 

The integration between Oracle E-business Suite (EBS) R12 and Oracle CX Cloud has streamlined order management for our client, a leading aluminium and copper products manufacturer. It enables seamless interfacing of customer orders and invoices, real-time data access, and efficient order tracking. The integration also converts customer complaints into RMA orders, handles freight charges, and item creation, ensuring compliance with local regulations, including GST invoice interfacing.

Manufacturers are fast-tracking modernization to tackle inefficiencies in supply chains and production workflows. With rising global demand and tighter delivery timelines, companies are moving away from legacy systems to enable real-time visibility, automation, and predictive insights.

Cloud-based integration frameworks are gaining momentum, driven by the need for agility amid freight volatility, regulatory shifts, and complex trade dynamics. For sectors like aluminum and copper manufacturing, where high-volume transactions and compliance with local regulations like GST are critical, robust data orchestration has become essential.

Integrated platforms—such as Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle CX Cloud—are helping manufacturers improve order lifecycle management, streamline customer interactions, and ensure operational resilience.

LTM in partnership with Oracle, is supporting this industry-wide shift by enabling manufacturing process automation, accelerating cloud adoption, and helping clients build future-ready, connected operations.

Need for change

The client faced difficulties due to several reasons:

  • Lack of automation: The client’s supply chain and manufacturing cycles were heavily reliant on manual workflows and legacy systems, making operations slow, error-prone, and costly to maintain in an increasingly competitive, real-time market.
  • Fragmented, outdated integrations: Point-to-point and legacy PL/SQL/DB-Link code created data silos and delayed information flow, resulting in significant truck backlogs at plants and missed delivery timelines.
  • Operational bottlenecks: Manual invoice uploads—taking up to an hour per entry—hampered productivity and introduced frequent errors into the invoicing and payment lifecycle, directly affecting cash flow and compliance accuracy.
  • Limited visibility: The absence of robust monitoring tools made real-time tracking and troubleshooting nearly impossible. With OIC and SOA offering only short-term transaction data retention, unresolved issues quickly snowballed, delaying resolution and escalating operational risk.

LTM solution

  • Built 100+ integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and SOA Suite 12c

Integrated Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 with 25+ internal and external systems across nine sites, eliminating fragmented data flows. This reduced manual touchpoints, resolved system disconnects, and laid the foundation for seamless, real-time process orchestration.

  • Enabled real-time data transfers from EBS

Addressed data lag issues by ensuring business-critical information was updated and accessible instantly. This improved operational responsiveness, reduced delays in order fulfillment, and enhanced end-to-end visibility.

  • Implemented barcode and security solutions

Automated product tracking and improved data handling accuracy across the supply chain. This minimized manual entry errors, strengthened inventory reliability, and ensured tighter control over material movement and traceability.

  • Synchronized Process Data Input (PDI) and Output (PDO)

Standardized production data capture to ensure consistency and accuracy across manufacturing workflows. This alignment helped reduce waste, improve product quality, and ensure reliable, audit-ready records.

  • Automated reconciliation of GSTR2 with GSTR2A

Eliminated error-prone manual tax matching processes, significantly reducing compliance risk and improving financial accuracy. This also accelerated month-end closure cycles.

  • Integrated Indian E-Invoice and GST portals

Streamlined statutory reporting and invoicing, helping the client meet regulatory timelines with greater confidence and fewer manual interventions.

  • Deployed LTIM’s Digital Integration Command Center

Provided real-time visibility and proactive monitoring of integration flows. This allowed quick detection and resolution of transaction issues, mitigating the operational impact of OIC and SOA’s limited data retention capabilities.

  • Developed lightweight REST APIs for the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module

Enabled mobile access for creating Work Orders, Work Requests, and Permits without VPN dependency. This improved field workforce productivity and responsiveness, supporting more agile asset maintenance and issue resolution on the go.
