Implementation of GIS-Based City Surveillance and Intelligent Traffic Management System

Client

The client is the home department of an Indian state.  The project scope included installing CCTV-based City Surveillance and Intelligent Traffic Management System (CSITMS) in major cities of the state. For the installation of the CSITMS, 167 traffic junctions and 128 strategic locations were chosen. The installation enabled round-the-clock surveillance and real-time recording for quick response in all emergencies, including security and traffic.

Challenges

• The O&M team was required to keep the installed IP camera assets in working condition 24/7 and respond to the incidents.
• O&M activities using manual/physical methods caused redundancies and severe delays in the resolution.
• A spatially enabled, reliable, and configurable solution was required throughout the O&M phase to handle preventive maintenance and incident management to adhere to >99.5% SLA compliance.
