SAP Landscape Transformation enabled by “RISE with SAP on Azure” offering for leading US-based Energy Company

Our client is natural gas development, production, and midstream company, based in Pittsburg, US.

Challenges

• The client’s SAP landscape was 20 years, and due to events of past demerger, there were a lot of unused data and processes, which made the landscape more complex. 
• There was unavailability of required functional and technical documentation

LTM Solution

RISE with SAP is a cloud-based ERP offering which is a part of intelligent business transformation. LTM created a roadmap for the client’s cloud adoption strategy to migrate SAP workloads to Azure Cloud. The client’s SAP landscape comprised of SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8 system with HANA DB 2.0 and other SAP Solution components (177 active servers, 80 DR Servers in total). LTM deep-dived further and provided a  high-level design to standardize the architecture, processes, and streamline the support models. LTM also defined implementing the extreme cloud automation and cost optimization approach. With the extensive program plan, LTM’s highly experienced team seamlessly migrated the workloads with a well-defined strategy of lift-and shift migration model of on-premises workloads to Azure private cloud.

The solution also included the implementation of a Disaster Recovery environment for business-critical workloads. LTM also introduced its own Mosaic tools for faster SAP ABAP code analysis and remediation to support DB conversion from Oracle to HANA as part of seamless migration
