Known for its integrated suite of software and services, the platform helps streamline corporate travel programs while ensuring compliance, cost control, and traveler satisfaction. As the industry rebounds post-pandemic, the client continues to scale rapidly through strategic acquisitions and a strong focus on digital innovation.

Market Trends in Corporate Travel and Expense Management

The corporate travel sector in 2025 is regaining momentum, with global business travel spend projected to exceed pre-pandemic levels. Enterprises are increasing budgets for face-to-face meetings while demanding more control, automation, and resilience across their travel programs.

Simultaneously, the rise of AI-powered personalization, stricter compliance expectations, and ongoing cost pressures are pushing travel platforms to modernize legacy systems. To stay competitive, leading providers must embrace cloud-native infrastructure that enables faster delivery, reduced operating overhead, and the flexibility to scale globally, especially during demand volatility and strategic expansion periods.

The Need for Change

  • Complex, high-cost legacy infrastructure: Operating 15 data centers globally led to fragmented IT operations, high maintenance costs, and delayed provisioning cycles, which limited agility and innovation. 
  • Risk of disruption across 2,000+ workloads and 230+ applications: Migrating critical systems like booking engines and expense management platforms without downtime posed a significant risk to customer experience, partner integrations, and business continuity.
  • Large-scale data migration under tight constraints: Migrating over 450 TB of business-critical data, including travel booking records, client financials, and compliance logs, across multiple environments required a fail-safe strategy to ensure data integrity, regulatory adherence, and zero service interruption during the transition.
  • Slow and manual account onboarding: Setting up AWS accounts for critical teams such as infrastructure ops, application delivery, and regions lacked automation, delaying environment readiness and exposing governance gaps such as inconsistent policy enforcement and non-standard security baselines.

    To enable a seamless exit from 15 global data centers, LTM partnered with the client to execute a two-phase cloud transformation strategy on AWS: rapidly rehosting over 2,000 workloads, followed by phased modernization to ensure long-term scalability, governance, and resilience.
     

    • Strategic planning through joint assessment : LTM collaborated with AWS to conduct a tool-based assessment and develop a Cloud Business Assessment (CBA). This helped the client define the migration roadmap, identify modernization priorities, and align business goals with cloud economics, laying the foundation for data-driven decision-making.
    • Accelerated migration with Application Concierge Service : A factory-based migration approach, augmented with white-glove concierge support, enabled fast, standardized application onboarding with minimal business disruption. This included migrating 25 high-priority applications within 48 hours, aligned with AWS Enterprise Business Acceleration (EBA) standards, while ensuring business continuity during time-sensitive operations.
    • Automated infrastructure provisioning at scale : Using LTM’s Cloud Elevate platform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and GitHub Workflows, the team provisioned consistent, policy-compliant AWS environments across geographies, reducing setup time from 4 days to 2 hours.
    • Robust data migration with zero compromise : Over 450 TB of data, including transactional, financial, and compliance-critical records, was securely migrated using a tailored strategy to maintain integrity, performance, and compliance, protecting business operations and regulatory posture.
    • Post-migration reliability through platform-led operations : LTM established a steady-state operating model with network operations center (NOC) support and CloudHealth integration to drive financial governance, monitoring, and long-term optimization, ensuring sustained performance and cost control across cloud environments.

    • 90%+ workload migration completed in 18 months : The factory-based approach enabled rapid migration of over 2,000 workloads, significantly accelerating time-to-value and reducing transformation risk.
    • 40% reduction in data center costs : Consolidating infrastructure and migrating to AWS helped eliminate physical overhead, software licensing, and on-premises support costs, freeing up capital for innovation.
    • 45% reduction in operational spend : Automation, standardized pipelines, and Infra-as-Code practices reduced manual effort and operational overhead, improving cost efficiency and resource utilization.
    • Faster infrastructure provisioning and onboarding : Cloud Elevate and automated AWS account pipelines reduced environment setup time from 4 days to 2 hours and application onboarding from 2 weeks to 3 days, boosting deployment velocity and time to market.
