LTM has played a critical role in this ecommerce platform for more than a decade now. We are implementation partner for modernizing client’s e-commerce platform on GCP Cloud and we also helped automating their infrastructure and application deployment through DevOps
Challenges
The existing eCommerce platform was built on a monolithic architecture leveraging legacy technologies (Java, JSP, J2EE, DB2, and WebSphere), creating the need for modernization to improve scalability, agility, and maintainability. Following were the various challenges:
- Higher turnaround time for legacy applications
- Expensive maintenance of the existing eCommerce web application
- High licensing cost towards HCL-WCS product
- Higher time to market for adding new business features on to the platform
- Difficulty in scalability of the applications
Solution
- Migration from Monolith (WCS) to API based Microservices architecture on GCP. Leveraged GCP Cloud Endpoints, Apigee, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions
- Implemented 30+ Java Spring boot Microservices APIs and deployed independently as Docker Container in Google Compute Engine
- Developed UI Application based on React and NodeJS and deployed as a Docker Container in Google Compute Engine
- DB2 to PostgreSQL data migration, the transactional data has been cached at multiple layers to enhance the performance of the platform
- Implemented independent components of B2B features to ensure seamless integration to Google cloud.
- Upgradation from cookie-based Authentication to advanced SAP-CDC token-based Authentication
- Built Custom headless CMS solution and integrated with UI Application
- Access Controlled infra with quick turnaround time for setting up an environment from scratch
- Introduction of SaaS Solution along with open sources
