LTM partnered with the client to transform cheque collection for their field sales teams through mobility, automation, and Azure AI-powered data extraction. The CCA solution streamlined cheque processing, eliminated manual entry, improved accuracy, and accelerated collections with real-time visibility and intelligent automation.

About the Client 

A leading Switzerland-based manufacturer of elevators and escalators, the organization has built a strong global footprint with operations spanning more than 100 countries. With an extensive network of over 1,000 branch offices, production facilities across eight countries, and six dedicated R&D centers worldwide, the company is recognized for delivering innovative mobility solutions and driving operational excellence across industries.

Business Challenges

With the client’s legacy system, sales executives faced numerous challenges including:

  • Sales executives relied on daily Excel and PDF reports to track pending customer balances, requiring significant manual effort to identify and follow up on overdue payments, leading to time-consuming processes and operational inefficiencies.
  • Customer follow-ups for outstanding payments were handled manually.
  • Executives had to physically visit customer locations to collect cheques.
  • Cheque details were entered into the system only after returning to the office.
  • Manual entry was tedious, time-consuming, and error-prone.
  • Delays in data entry impacted operational efficiency and collection turnaround time.
  • Manual processes increased the risk of data entry errors and inaccuracies.

LTM’s Solution –  CCA Application

To simplify and modernize this process, LTM implemented a Cheque Collection Application (CCA) for the client.

  • The application provided sales executives with real-time visibility of outstanding balance details directly within the system, eliminating dependency on daily Excel or PDF reports.
  • When a sales executive collected a cheque from a customer, they could simply scan or take a photograph of the cheque using the CCA application and upload it directly within the app, instead of returning to the office for manual entry.
  • The CCA application integrated with Azure AI services to intelligently process the uploaded cheque image.
  • Azure AI automatically read and extracted all relevant cheque details such as bank name, cheque number, IFSC code, amount, and other key fields.
  • The extracted details were returned in JSON format to the CCA application.
  • The system then auto-populated all cheque-related fields for the sales executive, allowing them to review and proceed further with minimal manual intervention.

The CCA application has significantly simplified the cheque collection process. By combining mobility, automation, and AI-powered data extraction, the solution reduced turnaround time, minimized manual effort, and improved data accuracy.
