Client

Our client is a global leader in pure photonic optical circuit switching with systems that enable dynamic optical layer optimization in next-generation data centers and software-defined networks. It designs and manufactures its systems at its corporate headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, US.

Challenges

• High OPEX of the existing private cloud used to host the JDE application forced the client to look for a cost-effective solution with fast-tracked migration. The urgency was enhanced by the fast-approaching contract renewal date.
• Because of recent organizational restructuring, information about the existing system was limited. The existing cloud service provider was not ready to provide access to their servers. Thus, with a reluctant incumbent and without the availability of supporting documentation, moving the JDE workload to the new cloud was a great challenge.

• The team worked on getting the same setup, with the same naming conventions for all the servers and databases, so that there would be no training or transition needed for the users.
