LTM has been helping a British multinational investment bank and financial services institution in their cloud journey by migrating on-premise mainframe to Google Cloud and by providing the ability to perform actionable data analytics on cloud services.

The client is one of the largest banking and financial services companies globally, with over 40 million customers. It serves three global businesses: Wealth and Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, and International Banking and Markets. The client's network has a global footprint in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North America, and Latin America.

Challenges

The client was using a mainframe for application data and was performing various analysis on the data. Maintaining data on the mainframe was a tedious task. As a result, the client faced data storage and analytics challenges for business purposes.  

LTM Solution

• Reviewed current and long-term business requirements of the current landscape concerning GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
• Used GCP’s Cloud SQL to enable ease of maintenance/management and cloud storage for different types of files and high reliability.
• Used BigQuery to store processed data and faster data analysis for business use.
• Used Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to provide a managed environment for deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using Google infrastructure.
